However, Spam is also meat that comes in a can. It was first made by the Hormel Foods Corporation in 1937.

The original meaning of Spam is "Shoulder of Pork with Ham".

Spam is in the news this week. Burger King said it will serve Spam at its restaurants in Hawaii.

McDonald's has been selling Spam at its Hawaiian restaurants for many years.
