The Wall Street Journal, one of the most recognized newspapers in the world, may have a new owner soon.

Rupert Murdoch, who owns several newspapers and television stations in the United States, Great Britain and Australia, is close to reaching a deal with the current owners of the newspaper.

Murdoch has offered to pay $5 billion for the financial newspaper.

Murdoch, who is Australian, is politically conservative.
