Legal Action Against McDonald's in China

A lawyer is suing the world's largest fast-food restaurant chain for using mostly English, and not Chinese, on its receipts.

The lawyer, whose name is Shan, ate at McDonald's restaurants in Beijing in May and June.

He said that the use of English was against a Chinese consumer's right to know what he or she is buying.

He wants McDonald's to apologize in newspapers. He is suing the company for 1 yuan or 13 cents.
