China Prepares for the Beijing Olympics

With only a year to go before the 2008 Summer Olympics, China is busy getting ready for the world's biggest sporting event.

Chinese officials said on Monday that they expect almost all of the venues, the places where sports are played, will be finished by the end of this year.

They also said that ticket sales for next year's Beijing Olympics are going well.

Many people believe the Games will be a success.

"I am sure that the Olympic Games in Beijing will be the best in Olympic history," former International Olympic Committee president Juan Antonio Samaranch said.
