A Teenager with TB Is Jailed

Police in the American state of Georgia placed a teenager in jail because he refused to accept treatment for tuberculosis.

After doctors told the teenager he had contagious type of the disease, he left the hospital and tried to return to his home in Mexico.

The teenager is being kept in a special cell, away from other prisoners.

In June, a man from Georgia traveled to Europe with a dangerous form of tuberculosis.
