Italy's Pasta Strike
Listen here
Italy is known for its delicious pasta. However, Italians are being urged not to buy their famous food on Thursday.
Italians will soon be paying 20 percent more for pasta. Therefore, a one-day protest has been formed. Protestors can still eat pasta; they are just being asked not to buy it.
Pasta producers say they cannot prevent the increase in prices. Wheat prices around the world have risen recently.
The average Italian eats 28 kilograms of pasta a year.
