Canadians Are Going South to Shop
Listen here
Canadians can travel to the United States with more money in their pockets.
For the first time in more than 30 years, the Canadian dollar is as strong as the American dollar.
Thousands of Canadians have been traveling to the United States in recent weeks to buy items in American shops. Goods in American shops are often cheaper than they are in Canada.
The Canadian dollar, which is known to Canadians as the "loonie", was once as low as 62 American cents.
The American dollar has been much weaker recently against other international currencies as well.
