Languages Are Disappearing
There are about 7,000 languages in the world.
Several of them are in danger of becoming extinct, according to research done at Swarthmore College in the United States. One language disappears every 14 days -- when the last speaker dies.
Western Canada, Siberia, northern Australia and Texas are areas where several languages will probably disappear in the near future.
