A Baby Is Born Onboard an Airplane

The first hours of baby Daniella's life took place over the Sahara desert.

She was born onboard a Brussels Airlines flight between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Belgium.

"Given the absence of any nearby airport, the birth took place aboard," the airline said.

Both the mother and her child were taken to a hospital in Brussels after the plane landed.
