A New Coach Brings New Rules

Listen here

After a series of disappointing results in international tournaments, English soccer officials decided it was time for a change. Thus, they hired Fabio Capello, an Italian with several championships under his belt, to be the next England coach.

The millionaire players, who were allowed to carry on their glamorous lifestyles under former coaches, will have to get used to a different code of conduct. The following are among the new rules imposed by Capello:

- Wives cannot visit the team hotel
- Players cannot be late for meals
- Mobile phones cannot be used in public
- Players must wear team blazers in public

Capello is trying to prove to England's players and fans that he is determined to produce a winning team.

"It's not about enjoying yourself with the manager, it's about seriousness and getting results in an England shirt," said player Steve Gerrard.
