Thousands of places around the world went dark for 60 minutes on Saturday night.

People turned off their lights and electrical appliances to bring attention to the connection between energy use and climate change.

Many people decided to have dinner by candlelight during Earth Hour.

Rome's Colosseum and the Sydney Opera House were just two famous places to turn off their lights.

The home page of Internet search giant Google went black as well.
