INTERVIEWS
An Interview with Sam Margolis, the Founder of Simple English News
Listen here
Robert Karnis: This is Robert Karnis. Today I am speaking with Sam Margolis, the founder of Simple English News. Sam, why did you start Simple English News?
Sam Margolis: Hello Robert. I started Simple English News because I think reading the news is a good way for people to learn a language. I know it helped me when I was trying to learn Hungarian. I try and find stories that people may have seen in their own language first. Then they have a better chance of understanding what the words mean when they read it in English.
RK: What kind of response have you received?
SM: So far the response has been very positive. We have received several letters from teachers who tell us how it helps them in the classroom.
RK: What other features do you plan to add to Simple English News?
SM: We are planning lots of new features. In the coming weeks, we will be adding new voices, exercises, video and even more things which we hope will help people improve their English.
We also have just added a job board
so our readers can see which companies are
employing
people who speak English.
