THE OLYMPICS

Day Six

Listen here

Why are so many swimming records being broken at the Beijing Olympics?

That is one of the big questions thus far at this summer's games.

Ten world records were set in the first four days of competition.

There may be a couple of explanations for the faster swimming times, such special new swimsuits and a deeper pool.

However, some people are wondering if there may also be a drug problem in swimming which nobody is discussing.

Words

to break a record: to do better than any one else has done in a race or sporting event.

to discuss: to talk about.
