How old should a person be when he or she is allowed to buy alcohol legally?
This is a big question in the United States where the legal age for buying alcohol is 21.
A group of American college presidents met recently. They argued that the drinking age should be
lowered
from 21 to 18.
They believe a higher drinking age is dangerous because students under 21 can easily get alcohol and actually drink more.
Others, however, believe that the legal age for buying alcohol should remain at 21 and that not enough is being done
to enforce
the law.
