Nevertheless, there are some businesses that could do very well during a recession.

For example, since everybody needs to eat and dress, stores that sell inexpensive food and clothing should have many customers during an economic crisis.

Stores that sell used goods could also do well.

recession: a time when the economy goes down.

inexpensive: cheap, not expensive.

crisis: a difficult time, a dangerous time.
