The 52-year-old Slovenian faced many challenges — such as fatigue, sunburn, and piranhas — during his 5,625-kilometer swim.
His journey took 66 days. It started in Peru and ended in Brazil. He tried to swim an average of 80 kilometers a day.
Strel has also swum across the Mississippi, Danube and Yangtze Rivers.
