Thou and Ye

In many languages there are at least two words for “you”.

This used to be the case in English as well. Centuries ago, there were a couple of ways of saying “you”.

Thou was the singular form of you, and ye was used in the plural. Later, thou was used for friends, and you was used formally.

Nowadays, however, English speakers only use the word you.

The Little Mole

Kretek zalévá jahůdkyDisney’s Mickey Mouse is well known to American children. Another character, however, is familiar to millions of children outside of the United States.

The Little Mole is a Czech cartoon that was made by Zdenek Miler and first appeared in 1956.

The Little Mole offers lessons to children about how to behave in life. Although the cartoon is more than 50 years old, it is still very popular today.

Other characters in the cartoon series include a mouse, a hedgehog, a rabbit and a frog – who are all friends of the mole.

Miler wanted children outside of his country to understand the cartoons as well. Therefore, there is no talking in the cartoons.

How to Learn English

There is no secret to learning a foreign language. It takes time and involves taking risks.

However, that does not mean you cannot have a good time learning English or any other language.

One of the best ways to learn a language is to read and listen at the same time.

Another good way to improve your foreign language skills is to speak as often as possible.

Everyone makes mistakes when learning a foreign language. So don’t worry if you don’t understand everything or say every word correctly the first time.

The important thing is to try.
