A Dog Who Can Vote

Published on December 14th, 2009no comments

dog2Duncan is a dog in the American state of Washington. He has done something most dogs have never done.

He has voted.

According to a report in The Seattle Times, Jane Balogh, his owner, wanted to show how easy it is for someone to vote in Washington state – even if that person is not an American citizen.

All she had to do was write a name and date of birth. She then used Duncan’s signature – a paw print – to send in his ballot.

Duncan was able to vote in three elections before officials realized he was a dog.
