Grammar: Possessive Adjectives

my toys            (I)                                our house         (we)

your car         (you)                              your things       (you)

his money        (he)                              their flat           (they)

her keys           (she)

its name           (it)

- these possessive adjectives  can never be on their own and must always be followed by nouns

He often talks about his success.

Take your books.

- its is used before nouns which do not describe persons

car                       – its speed

company             – its branch

Note:

- articles cannot be used if a noun is preceded by possessives
