Guide Dogs for the Blind and Visually Impaired

Listen here

Guide dogs allow blind and visually impaired people the opportunity to have greater mobility.

The dogs are trained at special facilities, such as at the Seeing Eye in Morristown, New Jersey.

Once the dogs are trained, they must spend time with their future human owners at these facilities before they can be taken to their new homes.

German Shepherds, Labradors and Golden Retrievers are the most common types of guide dogs.
