Leapfrogging

Listen here

Leapfrogging is an economic concept often used to describe a new company moving ahead of an old company by introducing a radical new product or technology.

For example, companies that produced typewriters were leapfrogged by computer companies.

Likewise, developing countries, through technology or green energy, now have the potential to leapfrog developed countries.

(Leapfrog is also a children’s game in which one child jumps over another child’s back in the same way a frog would.)
