Teaching Tips for Teachers
One of the best ways to teach students a language is to have them work with current material.
Use the articles as homework for your students. Let them translate one or two articles in a week. The articles are short and interesting texts in several categories which bring current information about our lives and world.
Listen to the articles with your students and then ask them to explain what they have understood in their mother tongue first and then in English.
Read a selected article based on a topic you want to talk about with your students; there are several categories from which to choose. Then ask your students to make or express their opinions about it.
Divide the class into small groups and allocate each group one illustrated idiom and ask them to describe it to the others.
When teaching a new word you can help explain it by showing it directly in a text. This helps students understand the meaning of the word.
