The Nike Swoosh

The Nike Swoosh

The world- famous logo was created in 1971 by Carolyn Davidson, a graphic design student at that time.

The founders of Nike did not like it at first, one of them saying “Well, I don’t love it, but maybe it will grow on me.”

In 1983, when the company became successful, the owners gave Carolyn a gold ring and 500 shares of Nike stock. The shares are worth $600,000 today.
