One of the World’s Longest Sea Bridges
After construction plans were approved in 2003, the Chinese completed the building of the Hangzhou Bay Bridge in 2007.
The 36-kilometer bridge was finally opened to the public on May 1st, 2008.
The bridge links Shanghai to the industrial city of Ningbo, shortening the highway distance between the two cities from 400 km to only 80 km.
It cost a total of $1.7 billion to build this bridge.
