Hurricane Katrina was one of the worst natural disasters to occur in American history.
Two years after the hurricane struck New Orleans, actor Brad Pitt, along with his partner Angelina Jolie, are helping to rebuild the city through an organization called Global Green USA.
Speaking on the American television program “Today” Pitt said that his goal is to bring affordable and environmentally friendly housing to New Orleans.
The houses built by the project will cost $175,000, much less than the average price of a home in other American cities. Also, the homes will save 75 percent more energy than an average American home.

The Academy Awards are more than nine months away, but already people are talking about “A Mighty Heart”, a new film with Angelina Jolie.
The movie was shown yesterday at Cannes, the most famous film festival in the world.
The film is about Daniel Pearl, a reporter for The Wall Street Journal who was murdered in Pakistan.
Jolie plays the role of Pearl’s widow Mariane.
“The film is a certain Oscar nominee,” wrote critic Roger Friedman.
The film is based on a book by Mariane Pearl.
