The 2014 Winter Olympics
The 2014 Winter Olympic Games were officially opened in Sochi, Russia on Friday the 7th of February.
They will last until February the 23rd.
The Sochi Olympics are the first Games to be held in the Russian Federation since the 1991 breakup of the Soviet Union, also known as the USSR, which included Russia and 14 other states.
The USSR hosted the Summer Olympic Games in 1980.
