The Car That Drives Itself

Teams from across the United States are gathering in California to find out which has produced the best car that does not need a driver.

One team from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology spent 16 months to design its robotic vehicle.
“To have a robot that can drive in traffic, that just captured our imagination,” said MIT professor John Leonard.

The winning team will receive a $2 million prize.
