The PIIGS

Last month we wrote about the BRIC countries.
Now we would like to discuss the PIIGS.
The acronym stands for Portugal, Ireland, Italy, Spain and Greece.
Together they represent the countries in the eurozone* that have faced the most difficulties during the financial crisis.
However, the challenges and the level of difficulties are different in each country.
*the countries that uses the euro as their currency.
