Shakira is taking a break from her music to learn about history at the University of California in Los Angeles.

The Colombian-Lebanese singer has been studying ancient cultures for the past six weeks. Shakira attended the class after she had completed her most recent tour.

Her professor did not know she was a famous pop star.
