Canadians Are Learning a New Word
Until this week most Canadians rarely said the word "prorogue".
The word means to suspend or end a session of parliament.
This week Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper prorogued parliament after two
opposition parties formed an alliance which would have unseated his Conservative party.
This is the first time a parliament has been prorogued in Canadian history.
