Disney's Mickey Mouse is well known to American children. Another character, however,
is familiar to millions of children outside of the United States.
The Little Mole is a Czech cartoon that was made by Zdeněk Miler
and first appeared in 1956.
The Little
Mole offers lessons to children about how to
behave in life. Although the
cartoon is more than 50 years old, it is still very popular today.
Other characters in the cartoon series include a
hedgehog, a rabbit, a
snail and a
cricket.
Miler wanted children outside of his country to understand the cartoons as well.
Therefore, there is no talking in the cartoons.
